National Mujahideen Organization Against Return Of “Pieds Noirs” Businessmen To Algeria

The Prime Minister’s recent statements calling on businessmen to rely on the former “Black Feet” (“Pieds Noirs”) of Algeria to set up lobbies so as to boost exports, weren’t at all to the taste of the Mujahideen or War Veterans. The latter issued a statement denouncing the Premier’s remarks.
“Such statements are an insult to the nation’s memory,” says the document signed by the Secretary General of the National Organization of Mujahideen (ONM).
The latter denounces “statements made by high officials of the State that undermine the dignity and history of the Algerian people”. But the document does not name Ahmed Ouyahia.
The ONM continues its severe indictment, arguing, moreover, that these statements “undermine the dignity of the struggling Algerian people and the history of its Glorious November Revolution”.
It therefore regrets that they come “from high officials who ignore the crimes committed by the “Blackfeet” against the Algerian people during the brutal French colonial yoke”.
These leaders, the ONM adds in its statement, have forgotten the “untold tragedies caused by the “Blackfeet” and colonial settlers” in Algeria.
The national Mujahideen organization also reiterates its appeal to France, which has still not expressed its “repentance” for its horrible crimes committed in Algeria during colonization.
