National Team Coach Lucas Alcaraz Calls Up 27 Local Players
National head coach, Lucas Alcaraz, will officially begin his new duties on April 30th on the occasion of the national football team’s preparatory training camp, which will be held for four days at the national sports center of Sidi Moussa (CTN) on the outskirts of Algiers.
27 local players, selected by the DTN, will thus be involved in this upcoming training camp under the watchful eye of the Spanish coach.
Whilst the U23 national squad will be at the same time immersed in an internship at the CTN Sports Center, Lucas Alcaraz will take advantage of this training camp to closely supervise the players of both categories with a view to creating a pool for the first national football line-up.
Newcomers have just integrated the “A” squad reserved for local players. These include among others Sidhoum (USMBA) and Mansouri (MCA). The Greens of Algeria are now bracing for the African Championship qualifiers (CHAN) scheduled for Jan. 11 – Feb. 2, 2018 in Kenya.
In the elimination phase of the North Africa zone, Algeria will be pitted against Libya. The first leg of this qualifier is slated for August 12 or 13 in Algiers. The return match will take place a week later.
