Ouyahia: my sons have nothing to do with drug trade
Secretary General of the RND party Ahmed Ouyahia Sunday said his « sons work legally and have the right to possess properties. They do not sell drugs.”
Ouyahia’s remarks came during a press conference, in response to criticism over enterprises owned by his sons.
He also said there is no undeclared emergency state. “It was banned in Algeria in 2011. Because of that, rallies are authorized. Demonstrations are forbidden in the capital due to fears of possible riots.”
He added that demonstrations were banned in Algiers following a march triggered by the 2001’s Kabylie events which took lives.
Speaking about the last government reshuffle, Ouyahia said it was not conducted to “exclude some persons.” “It came following constitutional procedures which stipulate that ministers should resign and a Prime Minister is appointed after legislative elections.”
