National Office for Hajj and Umrah refuted the list that was published by the Saudi authorities, which included 81 victims in the ranks of Algerian pilgrims during the incident of Mina stampede.

“The list is wrong, especially as the Saudi Ministry of Hajj considered it as fabricated and was not issued by its services.”

“Official number until now reaches 40 pilgrims after the confirmation of the death of a disabled pilgrim from the city of Medea.”

Official spokesman for the National Office for Hajj and Umrah, Mostafa Mahdaoui, told Echorouk, on Friday, that the crisis cell of the Religious Affairs Ministry, was sent to the Holy sites on Friday, to ascertain the identity of the Algerian disabled pilgrim “Souihem Moussa, 40, who died due Mina stampede, and who is Medea.

Number of Algerian victims rises to 40 male and female pilgrims, with the survival of seven pilgrims who are wounded and are still treated in hospitals of Saudi Arabia in Mecca, Jeddah and Medina, while there are 10 other pilgrims who are missing.
