Over 7,000 cops to secure the New Year, Mawlid Nabawi celebrations

Algiers security services have taken, on the occasion of the New Year’s celebrations, which are coinciding with the celebration of the Muslims’ Prophet Birthday (Mawlid Nabawi Charif), a set of necessary security actions and preparations to provide security and tranquility of citizens, as it recruited more than 7000 cops, who are belonging to the various operational security services of Algiers to secure these celebrations.
According to the statement that was received by the National Security General Directorate, which copy is available to Echorouk, these measures come also to ensure traffic movement and maintain the safety of citizens, and protect their properties, as human force is distributed according to mobile security patrols and infantry, especially in public squares, and transport stations for travelers like the tramway, metro and train, and other places, which should notice considerable numbers of visitors like commercial areas and markets.
Security measures also include tightening teams of conducting traffic and rapid intervention units, in order to intensify patrols and respond quickly and effectively to citizens’ appeals through an SOS hotline 17, and the green number 48 15.
Algiers security’s communication cell sent an appeal to all citizens and users of roads in order to respect the traffic laws and rules of traffic safety.
