PM Tabboune, His French Counterpart Discuss Preparations For The High Join Committee
Prime Minister Abdelmajid Tabboune received a phone call from his French counterpart, Edouard Philippe, on Tuesday, during which they exchanged congratulations on the occasion of receiving their new duties.
Prime Ministry’s services said: “During the phone conversation, the officials discussed the ongoing preparations for the Algerian-French High Joint Committee that will be held at the end of the year and agreed to exchange views of mutual interest and to promote and improve bilateral relationships.
Fourth session of the Franco-Algerian High Joint Committee will be held at the end of this year in the French capital Paris.
At the conclusion of the Third session of the Franco-Algerian High Joint Committee was held in Algiers in April 2016, in which the two countries’ confirm their commitment to develop the economic and industrial relationships to the level of the excellent political relationships.
Final statement of the session asserted the importance of moving forward in order to ensure the success of the various projects that are agreed upon, confirming the two countries’ will to continue building this partnership, with encouraging the transfer of expertise and technology between them.
Under the final communiqué, the two sides pledged to strengthen their partnership in the strategic sectors in order to diversify the Algerian economy and develop bilateral exchange, especially in the mining, transport, mechanics, food and handling industries.
Algeria and Paris also agreed to hold a meeting as soon as possible of the Joint Trade Committee in implementation of the Memorandum of Algerian-French cooperation that was signed in Algeria in May 2003, on the development of a partnership in the field of foreign trade, market control and consumer protection.
