Relative retirement still applicable until the end of 2017

Algeria’s education minister Nouria Benghebrit said the end of August 2017 will be a deadline for employees to apply for relative retirement.

“Education sector is not concerned by relative retirement between 2016 a,d 2017. There is a special calendar for teachers who submitted their applications for retirement in 2016,” she said.

“Employees who submitted their applications between September and November 2015 will retire late in August 2017,” she added.

The minister also said a meeting is expected to be held with social partners to determine missing and available points in education field.

Speaking about people involved in the 2016 Baccalaureate cheating scandal, she said the number of suspects is estimated at 15. They received final sentences. A total of other 119 people are still under investigation.
