Two kidnapped Algerian brothers were released in Libya by a militia group close to Marshall Hafter after being abducted last Wednesday from the family home in the eastern city of Benghazi.
Sources from the Boumediene family, hailing from the western province of Ain Témouchent, reported to “Echorouk” that the information available to them for now revealed that their two abducted children had been set free without having further details.
The latter’s health situation was not confirmed after their release. All the charges leveled against them are related primarily to “magic and sorcery”, and the source asserts that these charges are fabricated and baseless.
The Algerian Association for the Defense of Human Rights has meanwhile called for the release of all the Berheil family and urged Libyan politicians to intervene to free the detained family members.
The Association also called on the Libyan authorities to take all necessary measures to end the undue intimidation of Algerian nationals present in Libyan territory.
