Requirements for qualification to upgrade university professors to be reviewed

Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister, Taher Hadjar, ordered the review of the university qualification procedures with the possibility of replacing it with a different mechanism to enable teachers to progress in their professional careers.

“State is committed to retain the training programs abroad with the abolition of the reception messages.”

The minister took a number of actions for the benefit of university professors during the consultations which brought him together on last week-end with the Secretary-General of the University Professors’ National Syndicate,  Messaoud Amarna, where as he promised to review the university qualification procedures and the operation’s complexities, difficulties and obstacles, and pledged in the same context to address the fundamental issue with the possibility of reviewing its presence and to compensate it with a different mechanism that enables teachers to progress in their careers without difficulties.

Taher Hadjar refuted, according to a statement of the University Professors’ National Syndicate, what was promoted of the possibility of canceling training programs for the benefit of teachers abroad, as he confirmed the Algerian state’s commitment to the preservation of these programs that have positive results in the training of teachers, and enable them to complete their researches and expertise in university and research institutions in the world, and committed in the context of searching for alternative and different formulas for the “message of reception” to ensure the dignity of the Algerian professor and eliminate the problems that are resulting from them.

Consultative meeting led to talking about the housing problem that is faced by university professors, as the National Union renewed its traditional demand to find an appropriate solution to this issue, as it is a fundamental requirement for the professional stability and social tranquility, and the lifting of the professors’ moral level, as the minister pledged to study this file, showing commitment to embody the demand for soft loan without the benefits for the professors who wish to acquire or build their own housing, which is estimated at 700 million in the near future.

The minister pledged to intervene in coordination with the central syndicate for the public employment to raise the preventive grant on the pedagogical treatment and school support for the benefit of teachers, which is estimated to 15%.
