Justice Minister Tayeb Louh announced Thursday in Algiers that a rogatory letter was conveyed by Algeria to the Moroccan judicial authorities in relation to the recent arrest in Morocco of an Algerian national on suspicion of belonging to a terrorist organization.

“The relevant public prosecutor’s office asked the investigating magistrate to issue a rogatory letter  to the judicial authorities in the brotherly Moroccan kingdom so as to identify the accused person and provide, the Algerian judicial authorities, with the necessary information related to him,” said Tayeb Louh in a statement to the press on the sidelines of the parliamentary vote on the bill pertaining to the prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing.

This letter is part of the cooperation between the Algerian and Moroccan judicial authorities, the justice minister added.

The Moroccan authorities announced recently the arrest of an Algerian national on suspicion of belonging to a terrorist group affiliated to “Daech” which was directly involved in the hideous murder of French hiker Hervé Gourdel last September in eastern Algeria.

The ringleader and several members of this “Daech” linked terrorist group calling itself “Jound Al Khilafa” have already been eliminated by the Algerian security forces.
