Saida Benhabiles: “Algeria Will Not Give Up Helping African Nationals”
Algeria will never give up providing assistance to African nationals who have taken refuge here as a result of the tragic situation and difficult social conditions that are facing their countries, Head of the Algerian Red Crescent, Saida Ben Habiles, confirmed on Monday.
“We are committed to the values of humanity and solidarity that are stemming from the principles of the Islamic religion and its long-standing tradition based on the principles of solidarity”, Ben Habiles told the press after visiting a gathering of African nationals in Algiers Oued El Karma neighborhood.
“We will continue to provide all support and assistance to all African refugees, especially those who are present in this gathering, and which number reaches more than 1600 people”.
“The recent criticism of Algeria by some parties about the situation of African refugees is baseless”, the head of the Algerian Red Crescent said.
“They ignore our culture, customs and human values that are stemming from the true Islamic religion and our original values based on principles of Solidarity, fraternity and providing assistance to refugees”.
“The visit of the delegation of the Algerian Red Crescent to Oued Ek Karma in the capital is part of the promotion of humanitarian work, an opportunity to share with these African families, which are mostly coming from the state of Niger, the joy of Eid al-Fitr and to emphasize Algeria’s concern about African families that resorted to it to escape the current tragic situation in their countries”.
