Sarkozy’s Party Calls For Increased Control Of Algerian Retiree’s Pensions In Hard Currency

The French Republican Party of former President Nicolas Sarkozy have called for tightening control over retirees who leave France to live again in their own countries and in particular Algerian retirees, and overseeing their pensions, especially the life certificate, through constant and sudden surveillance to verify that they are still alive.
According to a written question by the French National Assembly Representative Claude Gossigan dated April 24th, the MP asked the Ministry of Public Accounts about the control which must be applied by the French pension funds on retirees of foreign nationalities living outside French territory.
The French MP stated that there were many complaints about those pensioners whose retirement period extended beyond the deceased’s death and wondered whether France intended to adopt stricter control mechanisms, In particular, the procedures which should include an item forcing the retirees to apply personally to the authorized bodies of their country and be directly submitted to random surveillance operations to verify that these retirees are still alive.
French authorities often complain that there is a falsification of the life certificate on the part of certain Algerian retirees who went back to their own country as their relatives there still fraudulently receive the latter’s pensions even after their death.
