Security Services Arrest Drug Mafia In Algiers

Algiers security services arrested eight suspects in a felony of possession, sale and purchase of drugs, in order to sell, store, transport, export and import illicit narcotics illegally, in the framework of an organized criminal group, and falsification, the use of counterfeiters and the impersonation of others, as 20 kilograms of cannabis were seized, including 6 vehicles, 9 mobile phones and DZD 39 million centimes.

The operation was carried out by the Anti-Illicit Trafficking and Trafficking in Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at the Division of the Central District of Algiers Judicial Police, based on information about a suspected drug trafficker with one of his accomplices, which necessitated an intensification of surveillance and control. 

Cops arrested the partner and found in his possession a sum of 60.000 DZD and two mobile phones, and after searching his house, they seized 20 kg of drugs.

As for the drugs, the suspect said that he received it from a dealer in the east of the country with another partner from the capital, as the two deal with another supplier from Blida (western Algeria). After permission to extend the jurisdiction, cops arrested the suspect and a 186.000 DZD, the continued investigation led to the arrest of a third suspect in his residence where cops found a quantity of drugs weighing 130 grams of cannabis and his car was seized as well.

Following the investigation, another suspect from the capital was arrested and cops found in his house, 60.000 DZD, and a truck that was loaded with drugs in a residential area. 

Security operation resulted in the arrest of the dealer who lives in the capital, and cops seized his mobile phone, 20.000 DZD, and a bank account check of 193.000 DZD, and the rest of the suspects were arrested with possession of 107.000 DZD and a mobile phone.

Investigations revealed that the case involved a serious criminal cell which activity extends to other countries as well.
