Sellal: the situation is difficult and we still have solutions

Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal said the government offered 176,000 letters patents to exploit agricultural lands. This comes as part of the State’s endeavour to reinforce national economy sources.

The Prime Minister also said the government continues to make efforts to boost agricultural sector which is the best solution to face oil price crisis.

“The situation is difficult but we still have solutions. The agricultural sector is one of the most prominent sectors in Algeria.”

He added that the government will implement instructions given by the President of the Republic.

He quoted an expression from the President’s previous speech, saying “stability can be maintained by food security. This would not be done only if development is achieved. Agriculture is one of its bases.”

Sellal said importing large quantities of cereals and milk is “unacceptable and unbelievable.”

“There is a need for a solution. Algeria is about to reach success in view of achieved results in this regard by some local investors. They helped reducing importing milk,” he added.
