The new Spanish Government, led by PM Pedro Sanchez, has re-opened the file of late Algerian illegal migrant (“Harrag”) Mohamed Bouderbala, who died in mysterious circumstances while in the prison of Archidona near Malaga, south of the country a few months ago, by deciding to set up to this effect a parliamentary commission of inquiry to look into the ill-fated incident and shed light on all the circumstances surrounding his demise.
In this context, the head of the General Federation of Algerians of the Diaspora, Mr. Said Benrokaya, told “Echorouk” that the re-opening of the relevant file came about with the approval of the new Spanish Government and deputies in parliament with the aim of unraveling the circumstances behind the Algerian illegal migrant’s sudden death while in detention.
Our interlocutor further indicated that after the recent withdrawal of confidence in the Spanish parliament from the right Government of the People’s Party led by Mr. Mariano Rajoy, the new Spanish Government and its loyal deputies, who converted from the opposition to the majority, had decided to reactivate the file again and thus formed an independent parliamentary investigation committee tasked with looking thoroughly into the death of the late Mohamed Bouderbala.
He also stated that the file of the late Mohamed Bouderbala was marred by a string of contradictions. Such a case was closed in less than two weeks by Mariano Rajoy’s former Government in a unique precedent as the ensuing investigation was supposed to take sufficient time to unveil the circumstances behind the ill-fated incident notably with the recording of enlightening testimonies and videos from inside the Spanish prison of Archidona.
