Spare parts price increases in Algeria

Vehicle spare parts price has been raised for the second time this year due to the dinar price fall compared to hard currency price.

This comes as cars importing bill decreased and customs measures were stepped up. Because of that, vehicle owners seek second-hand, Chinese or fake spare parts to buy them at low price.

The raise exceeded 30 percent and it touched all the car brands.

According to wholesalers in Oran, spare parts price increased as exporters raised their price and fret, transport and distribution costs went up as well.

An importer believes that dinar price fall compared to hard currencies and the reduction of cars importing bill were behind the spare parts price raise.

This raised anger among customs who showed less demand for original spare parts as they chose to buy Chinese or fake parts due to their low price.
