Taher Hadjar: Over 1,500,000 students in universities and we’ll not drop out night studies

Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry did not deprive the classical system students from the Masters, but the decision is up to the universities which are still including the old system students, whith maintaining the Masters as an alternative to the Master, which faded with the bachelor automatically, Minister Taher Hedjar, said, on Saturday.

Hadjar added, in response to questions of journalists, on the sidelines of the evaluation seminar for the higher education sector that was held, on Saturday, at the headquarters of the ministry, the presence of universities and high school principals, that the decision to master’s prevention does not mean depriving the remaining students to pass the exam.

“LMD system was created since 11 years, and currently there are no bachelor system students. Universities have the decision to open the Masters exam, if it is necessary. There are six high schools that will open the competition for its students this year.”

“A seminar will be held to assess the LMD system by next December, in which students, representatives of syndicates, students’ organizations, professors and frames from the ministry will participate to present their comments and their assessment of the system, which exceeded a decimal of time in Algeria. We must develop the LMD system and apply it like the European countries with the theoretical and applied sides, especially in the branches of commercial and technical studies and even the human sciences, as is the case in the specialty of medicine in Algeria. Our ministry will hold meetings with economic institutions and employers to convince them to participate in the rehabilitation of students and their training.

“Next university entry will receive 1,500,000 students, including new successful in the baccalaureate, whose number is 363,141 successful, of whom 358,122 registered, a number that was not defined by the university since independence. Absorption capacity is estimated to 1,300,000 seats, and theoretically it is enough to accommodate all the students.
