Teachers continue protesting in Algeria

Teachers in many provinces Monday protested against the education ministry’s decisions and held sits-in next to regional education authorities.

Hundreds of high school striker teachers from the provinces of Boumerdes, Bouira, Batna, Constantine, Tebessa and Souk Ahras next to regional education authorities. They shouted slogans against the ministry such as: “no threating!,” “our dignity above any consideration!”

Teachers’ representative told Echorouk the sits-in are a message to public opinion to say that their strike and demands are legitimate.

In the province of Bejaia, more than 7,000 teachers took to the street to protest against the State for keeping silent about their demands.

Teachers also held a sit-in next to regional education authority in the provincesof El Oued and Tipaza.

    Well! Education needs to be kept away from all political and other irrelevant agendas, the ones who are directly affected are the kids, such sad thing to see this reoccurring situation happens in Algeria.
