Terrorism: A terrorist attack targeted barracks of security services east of Algiers
Barracks of a mobile brigade of the judicial Police (BMPJ) in Tigzirt, 40 km north of Tizi Ouzou, east of Algiers, has been targeted by a terrorist attack here on Wednesday, an Algerian website reported.

The terrorist attack, which occurred around 7 am, began with a series of explosions caused by mortar fire and homemade bombs placed near the barracks, the same website said.

A violent clash followed the blasts and security forces were dispatched to the scene of the attack. Neither deaths nor injuries were announced.

This is not the first time that the barracks is targeted by a terrorist attack. On March, at least three mortars hit the barracks leaving injuries among the policemen.

This latest attack comes as the Algerian armed forces conduct in the past few days an offensive combing operation against terrorist in Kabylia regions.

At least ten terrorist were eliminated last week in Tizi Ouzou, east of Algeria and large quantities of arms and ammunition were retrieved by the same forces.
