Representative of Algeria’s MSP party at Parliament Nacereddine Hamdadouche criticized a law on settling the 2013 financial year budget. He said it unveiled the government’s failure as figures it gave are false. “The government has no real program neither a serious vision.”

“The draft law which is presented to Parliament shows the government’s failure in planning and prospective,” the deputy told journalists.

“These are official figures. That clearly shows corruption and failure in the country,” he added.

The draft bill includes expectations to reach 2.80 percent of economic growth. The Financial Act 2013 expected it to reach 5 percent.

Hamdadouche believes that the decrease is due to dependency on hydrocarbons and falling production. “The crisis is not linked to prices as the government alleges,” he said.

The Financial Act also expected that exchange rate in 2013 would be $1 vs 76 DZ while it reached 79.38 DZ. Hydrocarbon exports went up to $63.48 billion compared to what it was expected ($61.28 billion). “This is due to wrong assessment and calculation in expecting the right price in world market. The Financial Act expected that products imports bill would reach $46.02 billion while it jumped to $55.03 billion. The reason was an unexpected increase in importing cereals and cars. Budget deficit was estimated at 3,465 DZ,” he said.
