Military body of the so-called al-Murabitine group, led by Mokhtar Belmokhtar, published a plan about the Tiguentourine attack carried out on January, 16, 2013. The 40-page-study explained the scenario of the crime, its preparations, and mistakes committed during the attack which limited its effectiveness.

Independent Nouakchott News Agency reportedthe study, which began with an introduction written by the leader of the Signed in Blood battalion, terrorist Mokhtar Belmokhtar nicknamed “Khaled Abou Abbas.” Its publication date shows that he had written it in last Ramadan.
In this introduction, Belmokhtar considered that the cowardly attack inTiguentourine was a “strong and blatant response” to the practices of these Western companies in the region, particularly as it came immediately after the new French invasion, according to him, to reveal the beginning of the return of the past colonialist in a new way.
Belmokhtar admitted that the process constituted a new turn in the terrorist methods of work adopted by the armed organization in ‘targeting the goal and strengthing the attack in place and timing’ which gave the ‘impression on the big readiness.
“Our military body decided the embodiment of the assault in a video recording, before killing the media officer in charge of the project, which led to postponing this work temporarily.”
“We tried to use impartiality in writing by stating far from analysis, and we just mentioned the incidents and explained them in their contexts, as we have chosen some of the security and military benefits, to use them in any future planning,” Belaouer added.
“We avoided prolongation in the consequences of this process and its results, on the side of political influence, especially, the social and economic sides, as they adopted in writing the information by virtue of the preview or queries.”
