U.S. State Secretary, John Kerry, praised in a letter that he addressed to the Minister of Maghreb Affairs and African Union and the League of Arab States, Abdelkader Messahel, the “constructive” and “useful” role of Algeria in the fight against terrorism at the global level, expressing his country’s readiness to work “closely” with Algeria in this area.

Kerry wrote in the letter that APS quoted some of its lines, on Monday; “I would like to express my gratitude to you and your government and the Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, of hosting the seminar on the fight against extremism on last July 22 and 23.

America’s head of diplomacy added; “The seminar dealt with a comprehensive approach about the spread of violent extremism, and prevention from it, and encouraged governments and other organizations to join the global movement to combat violent extremism.”

“The seminar also improved our efforts to promote concrete initiatives for the global symposium to combat violent extremism in the summit of Heads of States on the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Middle East, and violent extremism on the sidelines of the United Nations’ General Assembly on September 29”.

“This work highlights a series of interventions in the fight against effective and respectful interventions of human rights, whether they were issued by governments or civil society or the private sector, or multilateral organizations from which the involved actors can take advantage”.
