Era of power outages in Algeria has ended, Energy Minister, Youcef Yousefi, said during a visit that led him to each of the cities of Setif and Bordj Bou Arreridj (eastern Algeria).

“Citizens will not suffer from power outages this summer. Oil prices will not notice a rise again.”
“Algerians will not suffer again from power outages due to the efforts that were made by the State in this area, in order to provide electricity. Efforts that are made by our services in this area, are sent through projects that are related to the generation and distribution of electricity and transfer it through the final elimination of the problem in the prospects of 2017.”
“A power station with the combined cycle and a capacity of 121, 1015 MW is under gradual achievement in Ain Arnat (Setif,eastern Algeria) before the summer of 2016. There is a need to respect the deadlines of achievement and enhance the pace of works, trying to win a month or two at least.”
Power Minister gave instructions to the concerned officials to redouble their efforts, and tighten the census in order to avoid any delay in the delivery of this station, at the time he stressed the need to accelerate the pace of installation of electro-mechanical works in the context of the integration of specialized national institutions.
Regarding oil prices, Energy Minister assured that prices will know a stability in the future, and the state continues to send the projects which aim to preserve the national economy, by diversifying the work and make more attention to other sectors like tourism, agriculture, industry, and encourage private and public investment in this area.
Same official added that the government placed a special program to upgrade the production of renewable energy, like solar energy in order to raise production capacity to nearly 22.000 KW by the prospects of 2030″.
“All facilities and support are granted to institutions that are wishing to invest in this area.”
As for the oil crisis that prevailed in many cities, he attributed it to climatic factors, not to mention the lack of means of storage in some provinces, forcing him to give strict instructions to “Naftal” for the creation of large storage centers which allow the provision of this product along the days of the year.
