The angry workers resorted to block the railways used to carry the raw materials extracted from Al Ouanza pits located in the province of Tebessa, Far East Algeria, as well as coal from the port of Annaba.

Dozens of managers and employees have yesterday organized a peaceful march inside ArcelorMittal to call for the resuming of the complex activities in all the workshops to safeguard the employees’ interests.

However, they have expressed their support to the subcontractors that demand their full integration within the complex workforce so as to benefit from the same advantages as ArceloMittal’s workers.

To recall, the new US manager Joe Cassady has lodged a complaint at the court of Annaba against the protesters summoning them to resume work and clear the spaces. The court has declared the strike illegal but the protesters are still clinging on their position
