Political Analysts:Egypt, Algeria Scenarios similar in Shape, not in Content

Echorouk/Dalila Henache

Egypt military junta preempted the declaration of elections' result, and with the rising votes in favor of Dr. Mohamed Morsi, during the vote count on Monday night, the junta announced the constitutional proclamation, which undermines the powers of the new president and makes him the honorary president, who have no ability to declare war or legislation or take any decision, only after consulting the junta, thing which has aroused the ire of the political forces, which considered it a soft coup and some sort of imposition of trusteeship on the next president, as experts think that the country will notice a conflict between the authorities and the military institution, and extending the transition period, to hand over the power to the president.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Beltagui, the leader of the party for Freedom and Justice, and the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, denounced the individual action of the Military Council which Declared a complementary constitution, without any contact with the political forces, and also denounced having taken an interpretation of the Constitutional Court's decision, that requires ‭the complete dissolution the people's council, and ‭the issuance of a decision ‭of dissolution with the existance of a legal and constitutional conflict ‭between the men of law about ‭the appropriate governance.

Beltagui said that the declaration of constitutional guarantees contained points that are very dangerous to the country's future and stability, urging the junta to back down from this declaration, which may lead to instability and confusion that must be avoided through communication with the political forces.
Dr. Tarek Fahmy, professor of Political Sciences at Cairo University, said; "The scenario which is expected after the announcement of the Complementary Constitutional Declaration is a confrontational scenario, and bone-crushing war between the Muslim Brotherhood and the military junta about the powers of the president."
Dr. Fahmi ruled out the idea of a repeated scenario of Algeria in Egypt; "This scenario is similar in shape, and different in content with the Egyptian case. Up to now, there is no armed clash between the military troops and the Muslim Brotherhood. It is like the situation of Turkey in 1986, due to the interference of army in the powers of the President". ‬ ‭ ‬
