A Criminal Cell Smuggles Lyrica Pills From Egypt To Algeria Via Express Mail

Security services are investigating about a criminal cell that smuggled dangerous hallucinogens to Algeria by means of the express mail “OMS”, as they seized two parcels that are packed with 390 tablets of Lyrica pills, in coordination with the customs authorities at Houari Boumediene International Airport at the end of last week, at around 4 pm, after inspection of the shipment of parcels that are coming from Egypt.

According to the address that is written on these two parcels, they are sent for two people in Bouira province (eastern Algiers. 

Initial investigations indicate that an international cell wants to dump the Algerian market with Lyrica pills, which is a dangerous type of hallucinogen that is characterized by a continuous effect on the mind for up to days.

Lyrica ​​pills are prescribed by doctors for the treatment of neuropathy, and the treatment bypassing the dose “600 mg” causes a risk that makes its users feel that they fly and may become mad, which attracted the adolescents and those who suffer from problems, through melting these pills, especially after mixing them with stimulants that make the users reach  hallucinations degrees.

Lyrica is also known among addicts as pregabaline capsules, which is an effective substance, as they are sold by DZD 300 for one pill, and are known by the security services as being widely promoted among youth compared to “cannabis”.
