According to M. Tolba Tahar, manger at ministry of environment and tourism, the rate of the losses related to pollution in Algeria has slumped from 7 % in 2006 to 5.21 % in comparison with the year 2007, but Algeria lost some $2.6 billions due to pollution.According to M. The same source revealed that Algeria holds the second position in Africa after Tunisia in terms of environmental protection and the 72nd out of 141 countries worldwide, a recent study carried out by experts in the sector.

 

M Tolba went on saying that his ministry is looking for a genuine environmental policy to reduce pollution and enhance air quality in Algeria, by setting up some 80 recycling centers with the collaboration of panel of ministries.
