Algeria withdraws Ambassador from Iraq for security reasons

Algerian Foreign Ministry withdrew its ambassador in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, Abdelkader Ben Chaa, on the background of security situations in Al-Rasheed Capital, as the diplomat to Algeria arrived on the weekend.

Echorouk sources said that the ambassador may not return to Baghdad, after he was included in the movement, which was defined by the diplomatic sector recently, although he was not included in the previous list, in time the Iraqi authorities did not comment on the step of its Algerian counterpart.
Al Quds al-Arabi quoted the Algerian government sources, on Saturday, as saying that the Foreign Ministry withdrew its ambassador temporarily, on the background of security conditions, and this months after the return of the Algerian ambassador from Iraq, and years after formal diplomatic representation, on the background of kidnapping and assassination of Algerian Diplomats in 2005.
Echorouk asked Algerian embassy in Baghdad then an employees responded by saying that the ambassador left Baghdad to Algeria days ago, without clarifying the reasons for departure, but an official source, told Echorouk that the real reason for asking the foreign ambassador Ben Chaa to return to Algeria was primarily due to the deteriorating security situation and fear for his life, as he said; “attention must be paid to the safety of our diplomats and our staff”.
