Algerian Immigrants Protest Against Assassinations That Targeted Them In Marseille
Dozens of members of the Algerian community who reside in the French city of Marseille, organized on Friday, a mass protest movement in the center of the city square in the heart of Marseille, condemning the increasing number of mysterious murders that targeted them by some unknown gangs.
Algerian protesters called for an urgent investigation into the identity of the members of these gangs, who are behind the criminal acts that targeted a number of Algerian immigrants and that recently increased in the French city.
Members of the Algerian community, who are residing in France, especially those from the eastern states of Algeria, demanded the need to provide the necessary protection for them, after the gangs assassinated a number of them.
They organized a sit in out of the Algerian consulate doors in Marseille, asking it to intervene with the French authorities, to uncover the crimes against a number of Algerians who were killed in a succession with different ways, beginning with the murder of Djamal Lagha in April 2017, after he was thrown from the 15th floor of a building in central Marseille.
Two Algerian youth, Fatimi Naim and Yazid Zarfa were shot dead just after the murder of Djamal Lagha, then Mohammedi Farid, who was found dead inside a cellar of a building in Lion, and finally Guerfi Yassine, who was murdered in his apartment in Paris, without the Algerian authorities’ intervention, even through the issuance of a statement of condemnation, or offering the duty of condolence to the families of the victims, or even facilitating the procedures for the transfer of their bodies, according to the statements of the protesters.
Protesters from the Algerian community in Marseille demanded, at the end of their appeal to the French and Algerian authorities, in particular the services of the Foreign Ministry, the need to ask the French authorities to identify the gang’s members, which target Algerians to liquidate the body and protect the community from successive killings, asking in the same context about the secret of the silence of the Algerian state, represented by its diplomats there, about the process of targeting its citizens without moving, even through issuing any statement of condemnation, as the MPs who have applied their silence as if they exist only for allowances and money only.
