A group of Algerian investigators, including a Judge, arrived in Tunisia to check out the body of a slain senior “al-Qaeda” affiliated terrorist who was shot dead in Tunisia a few days ago.

The latter, who is said to be very close to the terrorist organization’s leader, alias Abu Mussab Abdel Wadoud, known as “Abdelmalek Droukdel” was active with his terrorist group in the regions of Djebel Chaàmbi and Djebel Samama near the Tunisian border with Algeria.

“The team of Algerian investigators arrived in Tunisia in the context of the close security and intelligence coordination and judicial cooperation between the two neighbouring countries to verify the identity of Bilal al-Kobi, who was killed by a unit of the Tunisian army a week ago, in the area of Kasserine south of Tunisia.

“The team of investigators will examine the documents and communication equipment found in the latter’s possession, with the aim of completing investigations in Algeria later on, and to see how the terrorist was moving in Algeria”.

A reliable source confirmed that the Algerian security services spotted the movements of the slain terrorist , a while ago, in the area close to the border, and showed information obtained by security  services from terrorists arrested or who surrendered to the Army that Bilal al-Qobi had been  commissioned as main terrorist coordinator by “Droukdel” himself since 2014.

However, this Tunisia-based terrorist group was finally disintegrated as a result of the strikes it received from the Tunisian army, and the constant siege imposed by the Algerian army forces on the other side of the border, and this stranglehold drastically curtailed the area of its movement.

The Algerian authorities have been tracking down Bilal al-Kobi for 24 years.  The latter joined the terrorist hordes in the mid-1990s when he was 15 years old and was  included in the ranks of terrorist  groups before becoming one of the most prominent members of “al-Qaeda” terrorist organization.

It should be noted that the close security and intelligence coordination between Algeria and Tunisia attests to a high level of performance in the hunting down of the nefarious terrorist elements, through the   unflagging monitoring of their movements and the bilateral exchange of information on them simultaneously.
