Algerian Naval Forces carried out, on Friday morning, a field exercise, to test the extent of their readiness to cordon and contain any oil disaster in Algiers costs.

Navy forces carried out water rescue operations using boats, and air operations using helicopters to save injured, in the presence of controllers from the 5+5 initiative.
These operations were carried out in difficult climate circumstances amid torrential rains, strong wind and high sea waves.
Maneuver focused on a hypothetical accident of the collision of an oil tanker and a commercial ship off Algiers port, due to the lack of invisibility and thick fog, as a group of coast guards received a warning after which boats were deployed in the site place and reports of evaluation teams were received.
After receiving those reports, naval services launched cooperation operations, and asked the National Center of Monitoring and Rescue Operations, to use a helicopter for search and rescue, then the services of Algiers governor were notified in the framework of the plan of “Water Rescue.”
