Algerian security services fasten control on information

Sources reveal that the head of the Algerian national security services, Ali Tounsi has issued an internal circular letter in which he warns his elements from communicating security news still under investigation to media.

The recently issued circular stipulates that officers found guilty of any kind infringement will be severely punished. Indeed, the elements of the security forces regardless of their sector are for now on under high scrutiny. Elements involved in news leak to the national media, in connection with an ongoing security investigation, will be simply dismissed from their jobs and sued for having disclosed “classified matters”.

This measure comes against a Backdrop of allegations made against a woman who goes by the name of “Sabrina” accusing her of plotting a suicide attack in the locality of Bouira, 100 km east of Algiers, but proved wrong.

In a press call, security officers of the same locality denied the information that Sabrina was about to carry a suicide attack against Bouira’s police. These allegations were uncalled-for, said the officers to the journalists, adding that further investigations revealed that one of the arrested individuals wanted only to square up with the lady accusing her wrongly.
