ANP: Arrest Of A Dangerous Terrorist In Khenchela Province
Two more terrorists out of the eight killed during the successful operation conducted last Friday by a detachment of the National People’s Army (ANP) near the municipality of Chechar, in the eastern province of Khenchela, have been identified, said Sunday the ministry of National Defense (MDN) in a statement.
“As part of the relentless fight against the terrorism scourge and following a successful counter-terrorism operation carried out, on January 26, 2018, by an ANP detachment of near the municipality of Chechar, province of Khenchela (5th Military Region), and after the identification of two terrorists among the eight (8) slain criminals, it was proceeded to the identification of two (2) other terrorists”, noted the same source.
“This concerns the wanted dangerous terrorist called Ammar alias Zaid Abdallah, who had been activating within terrorist groups since 1995 and responsible for several criminal acts.
The second one identified is named B. Mourad alias Abou Firas, who joined the terrorist groups in 2010,” said the MDN.
According to the MDN, a dangerous terrorist was also rounded up in combing operations conducted in the same region.
In addition, and in the context of securing the country’s borders and bolstering the fight against organized crime, detachments of the ANP Army “arrested, in In Salah and In Guezzam (6th Military Region), 16 smugglers and seized two (2 ) firearms, a quantity of ammunition, an all-terrain vehicle, seven (7) generators and four (4) jackhammers, while elements of the National Gendarmerie intercepted, in Béchar (3rd Military Region), a individual in possession of six (6) pairs of binoculars”, added the MDN statement.
