Armed Forces Neutralize 90 Terrorists In 2017

Over 90 terrorists were neutralized, some of them were eliminated, and 29 other terrorists were handed over to the military authorities in 2017, Algeria National People’s Army (NPA) announced on Wednesday.

According to al-Salil radio program, the NPA units and barracks were able to eliminate and neutralize 90 and arrest 40 terrorists, including 5 women, hand over 29 other terrorists to security services and arrest 203 buck up elements.

“NPA units that are stationed at the border managed to arrest 1,700 smugglers, 9 arms dealers and more than 500 drug dealers”.

“Armed force seized 258 Kalashnikovs, 62 machine guns, 5 mortars, 16 rocket launchers and 247 rifles, and detect and destroy 160 antipersonnel and conventional mines, and more than 179,000 rounds of various caliber, and various missiles, projectiles and a significant quantity of explosives”.

The National People’s Army forces arrested more than 13,000 illegal immigrants, seized 47 tons of drugs, 5 kg of cocaine, more than 1.279 million liters of fuel and 1,400 tons of contraband food.

National Defense Ministry confirms that these field results, although they are among the constitutional tasks of the National People’s Army, are the culmination of the efforts and preparations of the army units to secure national borders and to prevent all forms of threats to the homeland, and confirm the professionalism and vigilance of the national people’s armed forces in performing their tasks.

Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chief of Staff, General Manager, Ahmed Guaid Saleh, asserted on several occasions and field visits to various military regions at the level of the country, that these results reflect the effectiveness of the strategy that is adopted by the Supreme Command of the National People’s Army in order to keep Algeria free of any significant threat whatever its kind.
