Black report on Algerians' reaction from oil crisis

Annual report that was prepared by the National Advisory Committee for Human Rights’ Promotion and Protection in Algeria, which will be submitted early next week to the President of the Republic, warned of dire consequences and the explosion of social situation after the announcement of the government’s austerity policy because of the collapse in oil prices.

Head of the National Advisory Commission for the Human Rights Promotion and Protection, Farouk Ksentini, said in a statement for Echorouk on Wednesday, that the annual report of the human rights’ situation is ready and will be handed over to the President of the Republic by the beginning of next week.
“This report focused on the austerity policy that was announced recently by government because of the current collapse of oil prices, which is the main source of Algeria’s external incomes and the basis of economic, social and security balances of the country, warning of the dire consequences of this policy and the social explosion that would repeat the scenario of oil and sugar events that were experienced by Algeria in 2011.
The report which contains 150 pages, according to Ksentini, focused on the failure of services to vouch problems of youth, as they are still suffering from corruption and bureaucracy mechanisms, not to mention bribery, as he pointed to the improvement of the situation of health and the rights of citizens in treatment.
