Customs Services Seize Containers Of Israeli-made Clothes In Algiers Port
Customs Services of Algiers port foiled, on Monday, an attempt to import large quantity of Israeli-made clothes, and seized three containers of 40-foot which were packed with clothes that carry the label and drawing of “Zionism”, ad they were imported by a private company in the capital.
The details of the case, as revealed by customs official sources, on Tuesday, to Echorouk, are back to information about a large importation of clothes for kids, men and women that are made Zionists, by a private importer who is active in Algiers and a number of the country’s states.
Security services exploited the information and launch an inspection by agents of the Inspectorate of customs departments of goods in the port of Algeria, and the containers that arrived on Monday passed through the Scenery and the automated system of control, and after reading the picture by the agents they opened suspicious containers and found the Israeli-made clothes.
The opening of the first container of 40 feet showed that it contained kids, women’s and men’s clothes, and during the control, it was shown that it bore the serial symbol and a gold-colored sign of the Star of David inside its inner parts,under them it read “Made in Israel”, and during the inspection of the second and third containers it was found that they are packed with the same goods.
As a result, the customs authorities seized the containers and handed over the case to the prosecutor of the Republic of the court that ordered the competent authorities to investigate the case.
Echorouk sources added that this type of clothing is banned from entering Algeria.
In the context, the judicial authorities summoned the owner of the company that is located in Algiers and that is active throughout several states, to investigate him and asked him about the way of importing this products to Algeria, especially since it was manufactured by an Israeli company. They also found that the owner of the company imported them from China on board of a ship that is affiliated to shipping.
For its part, the customs authorities issued a fine of 10 billion and 700 million centimes, or about DZD 11 billion, against the owner of the imported goods and opened an investigation into the case.
