Education Ministry ordered, in a new instruction, regional directorates to start expelling the sector’s retirees from the functional houses which they occupy, under the pretext of giving them to other employees.
Informed sources told Echorouk that the Education Minister, Nouria ben Ghabrit, sent a new correspondence to the departments of Education, ordering the implementation of eviction proceedings against the sector’s retirees, without exception, from the functional houses, which they occupy, after investigations proved that there are some professors have benefited from houses in other formats (social, AADL), as they still retain those houses, to the point that some of them granted them to members of their families, rather than to waive them, at a time when Echorouk sources reported that their number exceeded 10.000 retired professors at the national level.
Echorouk sources added that the ministry did not exclude retirees who have never benefited from houses earlier, however, Algiers Governor, Abdelkader Zoukh, called upon the three Education Directorates to provide the list of retirees, as soon as possible, in order to allocate houses for their own benefit in the context of the re-housing program.
Education Ministry, discussed the functional mandatory houses file, during its presidency of regional symposiums, as she moved following the reports that she raised, and which proved that people outside the education sector of this kind benefited from houses, despite the fact that there are many teachers who urgently need them, especially since Algiers is considered the largest Wilaya that noticed such abuses.
