Faouzi Ghoulam Refuses To Talk About Napoli Contract
Algerian international, Faouzi Ghoulam, refused on Monday to talk about his future with the Italian Napoli team and the possibility of renewing the contract.
Defender Faouzi Gholam, 26, played for Napoli since January 2014 and his contract with this club will expire next summer.
“I do not want to talk about the contract with Napoli, please!”, said Faouzi Ghoulam, speaking at a press conference that was held by the Algerian international, accompanied by his team mate the Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik.
In a related context, the Italian press quoted an official from the local Mercato as saying that the Napoli management had reached a near-total agreement with Faouzi Ghoulam to renew the contract. However, the dispute remains over the clause of the penalty condition, as the club’s managers committed the Algeria defender to pay between 35 and 40 million euros if he is asked to leave prematurely, which is rejected by Ghoulam, who wants to reduce the “large” financial value.
As for the date of his return to the stadiums, Ghoulam said he was treated and did not know the exact date of his recovery, noting that his health had improved largely. He also thanked the doctors who treated him and everyone who sympathized with him.
At the beginning of November, Ghoulam was injured at the level of his right knee during the Champions League match between Napoli and Manchester City, and then the administration of President Aurelio De Laurentiis said that his recovery and his return to the stadiums will be by February 2018.
Previously, Faouzi Ghoulam promised fans of Napoli and supporters of the Algerian national team that he will return better than he was, and hopes to play the football soon.
