French Cops Arrest 20 Suspects In Murdering Algerians In Marseille
French police raided, on Saturday morning, the Micocouliers 14th district the French province of Marseille, after a series of assassinations of members of the Algerian community in France since two months ago.
The raid resulted in the arrest of 20 suspects in the killing of some Algerian nationals recently, and the seizure of 42 kilos of drugs, cannabis, and 3 kg of raw hashish and 3 kg of cocaine, and two pistols, a hunting rifle and a substantial amount of money, then they were transferred to the Security Center to initiate preliminary investigations in the case.
French media reported on Saturday that the French police, launched a major campaign, in the 14th district in the city of Marseille, after the deployment of more than 250 police officers who raided the Micocouliers neighborhood, in search of a boy 24, a former convict, who is suspected of being involved in a number of crimes.
This campaign is the first field reaction of the French authorities towards the ugly crimes that targeted 12 Algerian victims, in less than two months, and who were assassinated after being shot, burned and choked, and nine of them are originated from the state of Khenchla (eastern Algeria), and this security campaign came a week after the protest by dozens of members of the Algerian community who are residing in the city of Marseille, out of the Algerian General Consulate doors in Marseilles, where they gathered and raised banners calling for the need to move on various fronts to put an end to the series of mysterious assassinations that were targeting Algerian nationals in France, and after the officials of the Algerian Consulate kept silent about these assassinations that were carried out by unknown gangs in different ways, asking the authorities of the two countries, to protect them.
The same sources did not exclude that the number of those arrested are behind the crimes, pending what will be revealed by police investigations.
In less than two months, France had witnessed 12 criminal attacks that are targeting members of the Algerian community, most of them are from Khenchla (eastern Algeria), the first of them was Lagha, and then Fatimi, Zarfa, Guerfi, Mohammadi, Makrasi, Hachaichi, Beladj, Ben Khaira and Miloudi.
