Dozens of cars’ owners were surprised because their cars’ tanks were filled with the wrong fuel, in a number of Naftal stations, that included even those that are located across the East-West Highway, as they discovered mechanical breakdowns because fuel was mixed with water in these stations.
Phenomenon of mixing fuel with water returned back to the interface, as many citizens complained of the gimmick by some fuel stations that are scattered across a number of Algerian provinces, even those who were located in the East-West Highway, after the fuel was mixed with water, causing failures in their cars, and forcing some people to call their cars’ agents to take advantage of the insurance, especially if damages affected the engine, as technical control of the aftermarket found that there is a gimmick in the fuel.
In this context, a number of experts told Echorouk that the problem of fuel that is mixed with water, existed since a few days ago, and is often existing in winter when it rains.
“Some old gas stations are suffer from holes that allow the entry of rain water to fuel tanks, which creates the problem, but other cases prove that investigations have shown they are either the result of a deliberate fraud in bumping fuel or at the level of gas stations, where some workers deliberately add water to fuel, to make a profit and take advantage of the difference, a problem that has killed many people and caused serious material losses, because the failures can damage the entire engine.
