Gaid Salah: Combat Preparedness Is Vital… And Our Army Is Imbued By A Doctrine”

Lieutenant-General, Ahmed Gaïd Salah, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army (ANP) on Wednesday stressed the imperious need for infrastructure projects underway in the 3rd Military Region to be delivered in accordance with “the required quality and deadlines in effect,” said a statement from the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).

On the third day of his inspection visit to this region, theArmy Corps General, accompanied by the Commander of the 3rd Military Region, Major-General Said Chengriha, continued the inspection of ANP units belonging to the South Tindouf and Central Operational Sectors of Bordj Akid Lotfi, according to the same source.

He first made an inspection visit to the 9th Armored Brigade where he followed an overall briefing given by the Brigade’s Commander on the missions and activities of this illustrious Army unit.

Gaïd Salah inquired about the working conditions of the elements of the unit, urging them to “always brace up  for a good and efficient combat readiness and to continually increase efforts for the perfect accomplishment of missions at the service of Algeria’s security, by safeguarding its stability and preserving its independence and national sovereignty “.

The Army Corps General also inspected some infrastructure projects in the process of completion, where he reminded  the managers in charge of their achievements about “the imperative to deliver them, by strictly abiding by the required high-grade quality and deadlines”.

He later visited the units of the Bordj Akid Lotfi Operational Sector where he held a broad-based meeting with the executives and elements of the Sector’s units, during which he gave an orientation speech, followed by videoconference by all the elements of the military Region, emphasizing the importance of this get-together which is part, he said,  of the permanent contact on the ground with the ANP elements in their workplace.

“You should know that our ANP Army, in all its components, couldn’t have kept up with this steady pace forward, nor witnessed this modernization, as well as this major progress and this significant development, without the particular support granted by His Excellency, the President of the Republic Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Supreme Head of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, and without the deep conviction of its valiant elements, all categories and all ranks taken together.

The latter are not only elements exercising the profession of military, but are men of lofty principles and values inherited from the National Liberation Army (ALN), thus making the National People’s Army an Army of doctrine, in every sense of the expression.

That is the peculiarity that distinguishes the ANP Army, which has the right to be proud of this as much as it should be, while steadily striving to be diligently at the forefront of the ranking of major Armies worldwide,” Gaid Salah underscored in his speech.
