Hachemi Djaboub: “Writer Boualem Sansal Insulted Islam Using The State's Potential”

Writer Boualem Sansal was a figure above the law and was not subject to the custody of anyone and acted as he liked when he was an employee at the Industry Ministry”, Former Industry Minister, Hachemi Djaboub, said.

“Sensal was absent for days and weeks and he devoted his rare and intermittent presence hours to the Ministry to exploit the possibilities of the State for his personal purposes in writing books and publishing articles that insulted the Islamic religion and that were completely contrary to the fundamentals and constants of the Algerian state”.

The former minister and leader of MSP party, Hachemi Djaboub, reviewed some of his knowledge of the writer Boualem Sansal, explaining in a publication on his Facebook page: “After receiving my ministerial duties, I started to receive the ministry’s frames first to get acquainted with them and especially to reassure them of my prior knowledge of confusion, and the fear that is usually spreading among the frames of the ministries at every ministerial change, and whenever I asked for meeting with Sensal, the said he was absent, and after my inquiry about the matter, I discovered that the concerned is accustomed to absence for days and weeks and no one asked him about the reason, and all employees of the Ministry were aware of this, and no one expressed surprise because he was a personality above the law “.

Industry Minister, Djaboub spoke about Sensal, who was one of the personalities who were invited by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, to a luncheon last Wednesday during his visit to Algeria: “When I received him at office I asked him about his frequent absences, and he surprised me by saying that it was due to the large number of his travels abroad on official and secret missions for the Algerian state. I asked him in astonishment; How could you travel in official missions without the knowledge or permission of the minister? I talked to him alone and informed him that he is an employee like the rest of the staff, even if he has the advantages, and that he is obliged to respect the rules of procedure of the ministry like all the other frames”.

Djaboub accused Sensal of refusing to comply with the laws and regulations that are governing the work inside the ministry building at the time, which led to ending his duties, adding: “He refused to show discipline and this led to the termination of his functions, despite interventions, especially by one of his friends at the Office of the Prime Minister, who begged me to withdraw my suggestion that the person concerned is a global figure, and that, according to his claim, he plays great roles to help Algeria in international forums and to lift the siege that is imposed on it. I replied that his natural place then is the Foreign Ministry and not the Industry Ministry and that his retirement is irreversible”.
