Many parents of children who suffer from autism complained of the refusal of majority of nurseries to receive their children, while other nurseries invest in this disease, and raise the price to three times higher, if they agreed to receive kids with autism, all this in the absence of specialized centers in Algeria to receive this category.
Number of autistic children in Algeria reached 80,000 cases. They are rejected by private and public schools, and the nurseries increased the burden on their parents, making their fate unknown in Algeria.
Nurseries are considered, according to the advice of specialists, a suitable place which makes autistic kids integrate with healthy children, if nannies treated them according to certain methods, especially since this category of kids are considered genius and very smart, and the law which is governing the nurseries does not stop or force them to agree to receive an autistic child.
On this subject, President of the National Commission for Health Promotion and Research Development, “Foram”, Mostafa Khayat, told Echorouk, that autistic children can not be integrated into nurseries, because they need special care, but the owner of a nursery in Algiers, “Aya”, in the municipality of Kheraisia, disagrees with Khayati’s opinion, because Khadija Ghiransi, thinks that the nursery has a great role to help kids with autism to integrate into society.
