Housing: Over 300,000 DZD added for each beneficiary to end AADL works

Housing and Urbanism Ministry decided to resort to justice for the settlement of the situation of AADL and LPP housing projects that are assigned to unsuccessful contractors, and re-sent them after the evaluation of works, with their inclusion on the blacklist and barring them from any future projects, in parallel with the lifting of housing allowance value, which was in the range of 500,000 DZD which moved to 700,000 DZD, with additional support between 200,000 and 300,000 DZD, then take action to accelerate the completion and delivery of houses for the owners.

General Directorate of housing provided a report on the situation of projects that is related to AADL and LPP formulas, either the neglected projects or those under progress or those which are stalled, as investigations that have been undertaken in the framework of a settlement for these formulas revealed that the main reason for stopping these projects represent the financial situation and the failure of some contractors, and the delay of some local directorates in determining the list of beneficiaries, that have caused delays in the settlement of the project files. Add to that the delay in the settlement of property ownership which needs a special treatment for each case.
According to a study, which copy was obtained by Echorouk, showed that given the fact that a lot of projects suffer for years, it was hard to ask the registered citizens to provide an additional sum of money to end it, even if they paid the initial value of the housing.
In terms of figures, and until the end of 2014, over 321,988 housing units were registered, including 25,161 LPP housing units, while the total number of houses, which noticed the end of works reached over 130,538 units, and the number of houses that are in progress reached 140,575 units, including 34,566 LPP units and 106,009 AADL units.
Number of stalled units reached 15,336 units, including 8,941 AADL and 6395 LPP units, at which time the number of houses that have not yet been launched reached 35 539 units, including 2,982 AADL units and 32,557 LPP units.
