International letters rogatory to hear families of murdered Tibhirine monks as a civil party in the case
Algerian Justice Minister Tayeb Louh, said that prosecutors had requested an international rogatory commission to hear both the families of the murdered Tibhirine monks, and the assassinated French national Hervé Gourdel and the constitution of their families as a civil party in the criminal case.
He said that the move was designed to further bolster the ongoing investigations and to unravel all the intricacies of the two affairs.
In this connection, a second terrorist involved in the kidnapping and the assassination last September of French national Hervé Gourdel in eastern Algeria was recently shot dead by forces of the National People’s Army (ANP), Tayeb Louh said.
Minister of Justice Tayeb Louh announced Thursday on the sidelines of a plenary session of the Council of the Nation or upper house of Parliament, that as part of Algeria’s unflagging struggle against the scourge of terrorism, the ANP forces succeeded recently in slaying a second terrorist belonging to the terrorist group responsible for the heinous assassination last September of the French national.
The justice minister further announced the drafting of a bill amending the law relating to the prevention and fight against money laundering and terrorism financing adopted in 2005 and altered in 2012.
