ISIS Recruits Collect Donations By Using Electricity Bills, Prisoners Food Aid

Algiers Dari Bida Court scheduled, during the next criminal session, the trial of 27 accused on charges of joining ISIS, after investigations by the counter terrorism and incitement division of the State Department of the Judicial Police of Algiers State Security, and uncovered the plan of recruitment and financing, or praising for organization and terrorist acts, and found during the investigation that 12 of them are currently in Syria, and four others in Iraq, while the rest were arrested before joining the organization, reliable sources told Echorouk.

Anti-Incitement and Counter Terrorism Services received information on the movements of a young man in his thirties called “Abou Mosaab Abdelwadoud” who was preceded by several criminal cases, they arrested him and transferred him to the investigation, where he admitted his terrorist activity with a group of young people from Algiers Calitous neighborhood.

Security investigations show that a man called “Z.M” and nicknamed “Abou Mosaab Abdelwadoud” managed in the recent years to recruit a large number of young people in the region, then security services reached, through his statements, members of his cell.

On the other hand, investigations in the file revealed that the cell was using donations that are collected under the guise of providing “prison food aid” for the benefit of poor families whose children are held in penal institutions for terrorism-related charges, to help them, by using water and electricity bills to mislead the benefactors. However; the collected donations were later poured into the coffers of the secret cells to fund the fighters and cover their travel expenses to Syria and Iraq.
