Khomri: The Algerian Youth Have No Relation with “Daech”

Algerian youth Minister, Abdelkader Khomri, has flatly denied certain nefarious propaganda spread by some ill-advised circles that the Algerian youth have relations with the “Daech” terror movement.

He underlined that it was patently clear that Algerian youth have no relation whatsoever with this terror group, stressing that the Algerian young people have a deep sense of patriotism as they have become wiser and more diligent after witnessing Algeria’s appalling woes sustained during the national tragedy of the 90’s.

Mr Khomri added that this commendable sense of patriotism and wisdom had prevented the Algerian youth from following on the footsteps of those who ignited the so-called “Arab Spring” uprisings in their own countries with untold negative repercussions until the present day.

The youth Minister was speaking Monday during a regional youth seminar held in the eastern city of Constantine as part of the preparations for the mega yearly event “Constantine, the capital of Arab Culture for 2015”.

Mr Khomri further highlighted the need for Algeria to prepare the post-oil era by combining three factors, namely the human development, the market-oriented economy  and the social state.

“One of the challenges that we have to successfully respond to is creating the conditions and the necessary means for harmonious and sustainable development that takes into account the strategic requirement of preparing for the post-oil era,” stressed the youth minister.

He proposed, for this purpose, to promote youth entrepreneurship in the wealth and job-generator sectors outside the hydrocarbon sector, such as agriculture, industry, tourism and services.

Mr Khomri also insisted on the need to associate youth in the process of economic development, particularly through the promotion of investment projects initiated by them.
