Ramtane Lamamra, Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs
Foreign Affairs Minister, Ramtane Lamamra renewed Algeria’s commitment to continue to make efforts within the mediation team to resolve the crisis in northern Mali, expressing his satisfaction with the decision that was issued by Arab Foreign Ministers, on arming the Libyan army.
Lamamra added, at the end of a meeting with the coordinating parties to dialogue and to resolve the crisis, in the north of Mali at the Foreign Affairs’ Ministry, that he expressed hope for a final agreement in the next meeting.
“Algeria is working of course with all the brothers of all delegations in order to achieve this because we do not want the continuation of the prevailing situation.”
“There are terrorist acts and there is a state of instability, and great suffering of innocent citizens, and the continuation of this situation is in favor of terrorist movements to sow confusion and instability and violence.”
“Solution that ensures overcoming all these negative phenomena is to reach a comprehensive political agreement between all parties. I am optimist about reaching an agreement for reconciliation and for the restoration of peace and stability in northern Mali.”
