Money and Mobile Phones From Syria To Finance “Daesh” In Algeria!
The General Prosecutor at the criminal Court in Dar El Beida municipality in suburban Algiers, has required a life sentence in a criminal case involving three people, the fourth of whom is still in the run.
The defendants hail from the Algiers district of Bachdjarah, and whose trial revealed yesterday their involvement in the “financing of terrorist groups in Algeria, by providing them with funds to expand in North Africa, through elements recruited for the same purpose, including the main accused, nicknamed “Chouaib” based in Syria.
The circumstances of the case, according to the court’s hearings, were based on the statements made by terrorist called Hamza, who was arrested in a clash between the National People’s Army and a terrorist group in the Rouakech area in the central province of Medea.
The defendants were used as mediators in bringing in external funding to support and finance terrorist groups.
Security Investigations into the criminal case revealed that the terrorist groups, said to be holed up in eastern Bouira and Bordj Bou Arreridj provinces, had received from the defendants between 80 and 350 million centimes (DA) , along with a sizable quantity of shoes, mobile phones and other items.
In their intervention, Security forces seized part of the money hidden inside the home of one of the defendants, while another accused placed his mobile phone shop located in “Baumati” market east of Algiers, at the disposal of terrorist groups.
