Moroccan Justice Continues To Examine “Algerian Naturalization” Case

The Criminal Court of the Moroccan city of Fes failed to respond to the temporary release from detention of five security officers and auxiliaries active in the same city, for their involvement in the naturalization process of four Algerians who were given Moroccan nationality by using forged administrative documents.

The Moroccan media reported on Thursday that the lawyers of the defendants had filed the provisional release petition for the benefit of all their clients, including the four Algerians detained in the case, but the representative of the Public Prosecution confronted them with absolute refusal, citing “the lack of guarantees for the presence at the relevant Court of the accused and the seriousness of the offenses committed by them”.

The same Court has meanwhile put off the trial of the accused in this case until February 20, after the defense body sought to give the defendants a period of notice after the inclusion of the outstanding case file in one single file.
